Jacqueline Bart helped bring the 61st Union Internationale des Avocats Annual Congress to Toronto, creating an opportunity for Canadian lawyers to connect with legal professionals from around the world. The congress also brought international attention to the UIA’s work protecting and supporting lawyers who face persecution for representing their clients.
The Story
Jacqueline Bart saw bringing the 61st UIA Annual Congress to Toronto as an opportunity for Canadian lawyers to meet and build relationships with lawyers from around the world they might not otherwise have the opportunity to connect with. She was particularly excited about the discussions the congress would bring to the city and the UIA’s focus on protecting and supporting lawyers who face persecution for representing their clients. She was also proud to introduce international delegates to Toronto itself. She highlighted the city’s museums, art galleries, opera house and ballet company as some of the cultural attractions that would give attendees a chance to explore Toronto beyond the congress.
