Hosting a congress is more than winning a bid. It’s about bringing your sector’s leaders together in one place.
What lasts goes beyond the meeting: stronger connections with peers and institutions, greater recognition in your field, and the opportunity to celebrate your contribution at the Leaders Circle Recognition Celebration.
A partnership, with you at the front
You bring the standing in your sector. We bring a team that knows how international congress bids are won.
Leading a conference bid means leading the academic expertise. Depending on the association’s guidelines, you judge whether an opportunity is worth pursuing, bring your institution and your peers to the table, shape the academic theme the proposal is built on, contribute to the bid proposal, and speak for Toronto when the case is made. Leaders Circle assists with the strategy and researches the case for the city, and Destination Toronto compiles the bid proposal, coordinates letters of support from government, and more.
Once a conference is won, its ambassadors may be eligible for the Leaders Circle Research Grant, up to $50,000 for a project aligned with the conference’s focus. Beyond the grant, ambassadors join a standing network of sector leaders and are celebrated among their peers at the Leaders Circle Recognition Celebration.

Leaders Circle has helped bring technology and computing conferences to Toronto, with more on the way. One example is the 2027 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing.
In their words
“I feel it is my responsibility and also my obligation to promote our researchers, our universities and our students”

“Bringing the International Congress of Dietetics to Toronto is an opportunity to showcase both the quality of research and the strength of the Dietetics community”
A global centre for AI, and one of North America's largest technology markets
For a technology congress, the host city is part of the draw. It shapes who fills your sessions, which labs and companies engage, and how readily your delegates can reach you. The Toronto region has a real claim on a computing audience as one of the homes of modern deep learning, anchored by the Vector Institute and the University of Toronto's machine-learning research, and the base of the Nobel-recognized work that helped define the field.
The city holds the third-largest technology workforce in North America, more than 14,000 companies and over 400,000 people in the sector, with roughly 4,000 active startups and research labs from the biggest names in the industry. Bringing your congress here connects that base to a community of technology and computing leaders who have done the same, and puts your discipline, and your city, on the map. Toronto is a major international gateway, with the connections a global tech delegation requires, which matters most when your delegates travel from every part of the world.
Questions technology leaders ask
These congresses are competitive, and they go to cities with genuine strength in the field. Each is won through a bid to the association that owns the meeting, and the bid needs a local host to put it forward, often through your professional society, working with a team that prepares the case. In Toronto, Leaders Circle brings the strategy and guidance, Destination Toronto delivers the bid services, and you provide the standing that comes from being known in your field. There is no fee to take part.
Toronto holds the third-largest technology workforce in North America, with thousands of companies and a research base that helped shape modern AI, anchored by the Vector Institute and the University of Toronto’s machine-learning work. A congress here reaches a genuine centre of the field, where the labs, the companies, and the community are already active.
Ambassadors join a standing network of technology and computing leaders across Toronto, take part in Leaders Circle workshops, and are celebrated among their peers at the Leaders Circle Recognition Celebration. Your win is also captured and told, in a filmed conversation and a written story that reaches your field.
Yes. You do not need to be the most senior name in your field, only known to your peers and willing to lead. Most ambassadors have never led a bid before, and Leaders Circle and Destination Toronto handle the process around you.
