Le congr\u00e8s \u00e9tait \u00e9galement pour elle une occasion de pr\u00e9senter \u00e0 des coll\u00e8gues internationaux <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">une ville diversifi\u00e9e qui se veut le reflet du monde.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"h3\">L\u2019histoire<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">La D<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">re<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Gail Darling voulait organiser le Congr\u00e8s international de l\u2019International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus \u00e0 Toronto, \u00e0 la fois pour que le congr\u00e8s puisse profiter \u00e0 son domaine et pour ce que la ville avait \u00e0 offrir \u00e0 ses coll\u00e8gues internationaux. M\u00eame si le congr\u00e8s \u00e9tait ax\u00e9 sur le domaine sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 des maladies \u0153sophagiennes, il r\u00e9unissait plusieurs disciplines du domaine du cancer, des affections non canc\u00e9reuses et des diagnostics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pour la D<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">re<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Darling, ce m\u00e9lange cr\u00e9ait une occasion importante de discussion et de recherche sous le signe de la collaboration. Elle \u00e9tait \u00e9galement enthousiaste \u00e0 l\u2019id\u00e9e de pr\u00e9senter Toronto \u00e0 ses coll\u00e8gues et amis.
