Leaders Circle Recognition Gala 2018

On April 24, 2018, the Leaders Circle Recognition Gala honoured 12 distinguished Ambassadors for their dedication and achievement in bringing high-profile international meetings to Toronto. New this year was the inaugural presentation of a Partnership Award recognizing an individual that has been instrumental to the success of numerous Leaders Circle initiatives that promote our city.

The theme of the evening was “Champions of Change”; each “Champion” contributes to advances in science, engineering, technology, healthcare and social well being by providing a forum for international experts to share ideas and knowledge. By hosting their international colleagues in Toronto, they enhance innovation, creativity and ultimately, change in our society.

The total economic impact of these international meetings to the city of Toronto is estimated at over $63 million.

The Leaders Circle is partnering with TOHealth! as a major sponsor of the second annual “Impact Health Summit” to be held on April 9, 2018 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. This event opens the second Toronto Health Innovation Week and is a full day of inspiration and ideas as industry leaders and key stakeholders discuss accelerating our human health and science ecosystem to drive innovation, company and job creation, working towards better patient outcomes.

Leaders Circle Recognition Gala 2017

At the second Annual Leaders Circle Recognition Gala, we honoured eight Ambassadors. Their tenacity and influence brought five international meetings to Toronto. The total economic impact of these meetings to the city of Toronto is estimated at over $20 million.

Toronto and Ontario have a rich research and innovation story to tell and needs channels to tell that story. The Leaders Circle endeavours to help its members tell their stories to the world and bring focus to their discipline by assisting them to host their international event in our incredible, world-class city.

Leaders Circle Recognition Gala 2016

The inaugural Leaders Circle Recognition Gala honoured 30 distinguished Ambassadors for their invaluable work in promoting Toronto within their respective fields of expertise, and to their colleagues from around the world. Their influence and dedication brought a total of 26 international association meetings to Toronto and the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, including nine meetings held from 2012 to 2015 and 17 future meetings taking place from 2016 to 2019. The total economic impact to the City is estimated at over $200 million.

Inaugural Leaders Circle Presentation

The inaugural Leaders Circle Presentation introduced the Leaders Circle as a special network of Canadian professionals with the common goal of showcasing Toronto and to bring international meetings to the city that provide transfer of knowledge and leave a legacy of social and economic benefit for our province. Ontario’s Minister of Research, Innovation and Science, Minister Moridi, announced the Leaders Circle Grant, a fund created to support the innovation, science and research in Toronto and Canada.
